You’re a fan of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. You were hoping for the new movie, Walpurgisnacht Rising, to come out this year (2024). You’re excited to see Akuma-chan’s new world. You’re looking forward to seeing Mami, Nagisa, Sayaka, and Kyoko all together again. You are interested to see if Madoka regains her memories and what that might mean. You’re definitely not a nerd like me and reading a bunch of Nietzschean, Faustian, Marxist, and/or Cartesian bullshit into it. You, my friend, are a regular ass Weeb.
Then you wake one morning up to find out there’s AN ANNOUNCEMENT.

Now, as an artist who is working on A LOT right now, let me tell you: art is difficult. Especially in a world like ours. If you are actually feeling some kind of anger or frustration over a delay in any piece of media you were looking forward to (I’ve seen it about PMMM:WR, don’t lie), may I make some suggestions:
- Make some cringy fan art
- Write some awful fanfic (I have my own awful fiction)
- Write, play, and/or record a terrible song for your favorite character
- Write a wonderful essay about what you appreciate the work
- Write a beautiful essay about the themes of the work that you see

In short: be grateful that the Magica Quartet and the staff at Shaft, Aniplex, and whoever else is involved are wanting to take their time to deliver something fantastic instead of rushing to release something terrible.
