If you are a mainland Chinese Xiaohongshu user, and a “foreigner” has “ghosted” you, the app may not be accepting your internet friend’s photo ID or passport. Xiaohongshu asks specifically for a passport of non-residents. Getting a passport in the US costs a lot of money for the average working class person.
