Okay, so the backdrop is I wanted to write a teenager who said “poggers”, and somehow she ended up pointing a rifle at her father. I’m a terrible writer.

I submitted this story to be published within hours of the Nashville shooting involving an alleged trans person. I couldn’t make up such a confluence of factors if I tried. I gave Karen the maiden name I did because I thought I was finished with her. I am a good writer.
